Tiffin Columbian graduate Olyvia Steinmetz has been officially named to the prestigious 2026 Academic All-American Team by the National High School Coaches Association (NHSCA). This national honor recognizes Steinmetz as one of the country's premier student-athletes who consistently demonstrates exceptional excellence both in her sport and in the classroom.
Steinmetz was nominated for the accolade by a member of the NHSCA within her district, who highlighted her dual commitment to academic mastery and athletic distinction.
This year’s selection process was uniquely challenging. According to the NHSCA, the organization received a record-breaking number of applicants from across the country, making the 2026 selection one of the most competitive in the program's history.
"The NHSCA is proud to honor the very best student-athletes in the country," the organization said in a statement. "These individuals represent the pinnacle of dedication, balancing rigorous academic workloads with elite athletic performance."
The Academic All-American program spans 22 sports nationwide, celebrating well-rounded students who set the standard for leadership, work ethic, and integrity. Steinmetz will be attending Heidelberg University in the fall where she will major in Education to teach Social Studies and be a member of their Swim Team.
