Tiffin, OHIO - The Tiffin Columbian Athletic Department has announced the resignation of Head Softball Coach Ryan Ottney following two seasons leading the Lady Tornadoes program.

Ottney stepped into the role after the 2025 season had already started and guided the program over the past two years. He is also set to begin his tenure as Columbian’s Head Football Coach this fall.

“I truly value the time I have spent as head coach and am confident that the program will move forward and thrive under new leadership,” said Ottney.

Tiffin Columbian Athletic Director Bill Beaston expressed appreciation for Ottney’s leadership and commitment to the program during his time as head coach.

“Ryan stepped in last year to fill a void after the season had started and really helped provide the girls with a stable and positive environment over the last two seasons,” said Beaston. “I’m thankful for his time and energy that he gave to the softball program.”

The Athletic Department will begin the process of identifying the next leader of the Lady Tornadoes softball program immediately.
