ATTICA — JV Baseball found themselves in a high-scoring slugfest on Thursday afternoon, but ultimately couldn't keep pace with a relentless offensive attack, falling 13-6 at Seneca East.

Columbian jumped out to an early advantage in the top of the first inning when Russel Fox lined out, driving in a runner to put the Tornadoes on the board first. However, the lead was short-lived, as the opposition quickly answered with three runs in the home half of the frame to pull ahead.

Showing plenty of fight, Columbian clawed their way back to tie the game at 3-3 in the top of the second inning. The Tornadoes capitalized on disciplined plate appearances, drawing a bases-loaded hit-by-pitch followed by an RBI walk from Carter Everhart to knot the score.

The momentum swung back decisively in the bottom of the second. The home team flipped the game on its head by exploding for five runs on four hits, establishing an 8-3 cushion. They continued to stretch the lead in the third, stringing together an RBI double down the left-field line and a run-scoring groundout to pull ahead 10-3.

Brahm Bolen got the start on the bump for Columbian, surrendering seven hits over two and one-third innings. Fox provided a solid length of relief out of the bullpen, tossing three and two-thirds innings. Fox struck out four, walked none, and allowed just one earned run on four hits to help stabilize the game.

Offensively, Ayden Yoshimoto and Brayden Shoemaker each collected a hit for the Tornadoes. Brady Renninger anchored the run production, leading the team with two runs batted in.

Just like the varsity squad, the JV Tornadoes wreaked havoc when they got on base, aggressively racking up nine stolen bases as a team. Fox, Renninger, and Shoemaker spearheaded the track meet, with each player recording multiple stolen bases on the day.

The JV's will finish their season on Monday vs Calvert
