Clyde - Tiffin Columbian jumped out to an early lead Thursday but couldn't sustain the momentum, falling 11-4 in a road matchup against Clyde. Despite the initial spark, the Tornadoes struggled to contain a potent Fliers offense that seized control of the contest in the early innings.

Columbian struck first in the top of the opening frame, capitalizing on an error to plate a run. However, the lead was short-lived as Clyde answered immediately in the bottom half of the inning to surge ahead. The Fliers padded that lead further in the second, breaking the game open and leaving the Tornadoes to play from behind for the remainder of the afternoon.

The Columbian bats were kept quiet for much of the game, managing only two hits over the first six innings. Conner Reese and Braden Egbert accounted for those hits, with Reese finishing the day with an RBI. On the defensive side, the Tornadoes managed to turn one double play to escape a late-inning jam.

Egbert took the loss on the mound, surrendering five earned runs over an inning and a third before the bullpen took over. While the road trip proved difficult, the Tornadoes have a quick opportunity to reset. They return to their home field on Friday to host Sandusky.
