Six middle school athletes will represent our school and community this Saturday at the Middle School State Championships hosted by Hilliard Darby High School in Hilliard.
The girls 4x800 relay team of Brynn Moyer, Grace Welly, Ella Woodruff and Cora Quinlan earned their spot at the state meet after a historic season that saw the group break the school record multiple times. Their most notable performance came at the SBC Championships, where they won the event with a time of 10:28.91 to secure qualification for the state meet.

Brynn Moyer is an eighth grader, while Grace Welly, Ella Woodruff and Cora Quinlan are all seventh graders. Entering the weekend ranked 12th in the state, the relay team will compete with hopes of earning a top-eight podium finish.

Eighth grader Kami Beaston qualified for the state championships in the shot put. Kami has rewritten the school record several times this season and captured the SBC Championship last weekend with a throw of 41 feet, 1.5 inches. She enters the state meet with the second-best qualifying mark in the division and will be among the top contenders in the event.

Seventh grader Ryder Smith, who was unable to be included in the photos, will also compete at the state meet in the boys 100-meter dash. Ryder earned his spot after winning the SBC Championship in the event last weekend. He enters the state meet as the 10th seed in a highly competitive field of 16 qualifiers and will look to put together a strong performance with hopes of earning a podium finish.

The school congratulates all six athletes and their coaches on an outstanding season and wishes them the best of luck at the state championships this weekend.
