Toledo - The Columbian boys track team traveled to St. John’s High School to compete in the Knight Relays, finishing the meet with 22 points. The Tornadoes faced a large field of fourteen teams and managed to put together several scoring performances across both individual and relay events.
The top result of the day came from the 4x400 Relay team. Daswhawn Russell, Jeremiah Dickerson, Xavier Melick, and Amar’e Legrant took second place with a time of 3:29.71. In the field, Draven Steele earned a third-place finish in the Discus with a throw of 135-8.
On the track, Xavier Melick finished fourth in the 1600m at 4:41.85, while Marcelino Gallardo took seventh in the 3200m with a time of 10:40.11.
Columbian also picked up points in two other relay events. The 4x200 Relay team of Dickerson, Dazarias Russell, Daswhawn Russell, and Legrant finished sixth in 1:34.49. Additionally, the Sprint Medley Relay team, featuring Titan Neuman, Jakobi Jackson, Zach Kerschner, and Lukas Smyser, placed seventh with a time of 1:43.91. These combined efforts placed Columbian 12th in the final team standings.
