Shelby - It was a case of the box score telling a bittersweet story on Monday afternoon, as the Columbian Tornadoes out-hit their opponents nine to seven but still fell short in a 9-7 loss. Despite the outcome, the Tornadoes' offense showed plenty of spark, led by a standout performance from Johnny Bremyer.

Bremyer was a force at the plate all day, finishing 3-for-4. He ignited the scoring in the first inning with a clutch double that drove in two runs. He followed that up with singles in both the third and seventh innings, accounting for a third of the team's total hits.

The Tornadoes' most productive stretch came in the top of the third inning, where they hung four runs on the board to take a 6-3 lead. The rally was a team effort: Jayce Arias drew a walk to score one, Conner Reese knocked an RBI single, and Kael Lawrence delivered a two-run single.

In total, Columbian accumulated nine hits and showed aggression on the basepaths with four stolen bases. Reese, Bremyer, and Lawrence each finished the day with two RBIs. Jaxson Little also contributed significantly to the box score, going 2-for-2 at the plate.

On the mound, Little started the game for the Tornadoes, putting up impressive numbers in his three innings of work. The southpaw racked up five strikeouts while allowing only one earned run. Braden Egbert pitched in relief, throwing one and one-third innings and recording one strikeout.

The Tornadoes will look to bounce back immediately as they return to their home field on Tuesday to host Findlay.
