Norwalk - The Tiffin Middle School girls track team put on a record-breaking performance in a down-to-the-wire meet against Norwalk, narrowly falling by a score of 65-63. Despite the two-point difference in the final standings, the Tornadoes rewrote the school record books and dominated several key events.

The highlight of the meet came from the 4x800 relay team of Cora Quinlan, Grace Welly, Ella Woodruff, and Brynn Moyer. The quartet not only secured a first-place finish with a time of 10:44.2 but also shattered their own previous school record. Brynn Moyer continued her stellar day on the track, taking first place in the 800m run with a time of 2:43.6.

In the field, Kami Beaston delivered a historic performance in the shot put. Her winning throw of 40’2” broke her own school record, leading a Tiffin sweep of the top two spots alongside teammate Zoey Allen. Beaston also claimed first place in the discus with a toss of 77’5”, leading a full Tornado sweep of the podium with Allen in second and Olivia Cahill in third.

Leighton Tanner proved to be a versatile weapon for TMS, securing first-place finishes in both the high jump (4’6”) and the long jump (13’7.25”). The 4x200 relay team of Jennifer Lacer, Emma Donaldson, Aliyah Link, and Olivia Webb also brought home gold, clocking in at 2:00.7.

Though Norwalk managed to edge out the overall team victory, the Tornadoes’ depth was on full display with strong podium finishes from Ella Woodruff in the 1600m, Aliyah Link in the 400m, and Dixie Allen in the pole vault. The meet concluded as one of the most statistically impressive showings of the season for the TMS girls.
