Clyde - Columbian finished tied for fourth place at the multi-team girls track and field meet, scoring 81 points to match Clyde. Bellevue won the meet with 183 points, followed by Oak Harbor (115), Perkins (87), Columbian (81), Clyde (81), Lake (66), Wynford (32), Bard Early College (15), and Horizon Science Academy (1).
Carmen Lewis led the Tornadoes with a first-place finish in the 1600 meters, winning the race in 5:34.20. Columbian also picked up a runner-up finish from Maddie Kelley in the 3200 meters with a time of 12:45.48, while Caroline Newlove placed second in the 300 hurdles in 48.51.
Newlove also added two fourth-place finishes for Columbian, taking fourth in the 100-meter dash (13.46) and 200-meter dash (27.40). Emma Musgrave placed fourth in the 800 meters in 2:33.87, with teammate Carmen Lewis adding an eighth-place finish in 2:41.56.
Additional distance points came from Gabby Hohman, who placed sixth in the 3200 meters (13:19.87), and Kennedy Wilhelm, who finished eighth in the 400 meters (1:05.44).
In the hurdles, Izzy Thompson placed fifth in the 100 hurdles (17.26), while Leah Weingart added an eighth-place finish in the 300 hurdles (54.14).
Columbian’s relay teams each contributed points with four fifth-place finishes. The 4x100 relay team of Josie Kancler, Abby Lewis, Morgan Roach, and Ava Newman ran 52.34. The 4x200 relay of Kancler, Newman, Erica Raubenolt, and Kennedy Wilhelm finished in 1:53.57. The 4x400 relay team of Genna Cleveland, Kancler, Wilhelm, and Newlove posted a 4:29.28, and the 4x800 relay of Emma Musgrave, Cleveland, Weingart, and Lily Allen recorded a time of 10:51.04.
In the field events, Abby Lewis earned a third-place finish in the high jump by clearing 4-10, while Nella Hainrich placed seventh at 4-4. Tara Duffy added two sixth-place finishes for the Tornadoes, throwing 30-5.5 in the shot put and 98-4 in the discus.
