Clyde - Columbian fell to Clyde 4-1 in SBC Lake Division boys tennis action Friday, moving to 5-4 overall and 3-3 in league play.
The Tornadoes picked up their lone varsity point at second singles, where Brock Siesel rallied for a three-set victory. After dropping the opening set 6-2, Siesel responded with a 6-3 win in the second set and secured the match with a 12-10 tiebreaker.
Clyde claimed the remaining matches in straight sets. At first singles, Dravyn Dicken dropped a competitive second set in a 6-0, 7-5 decision. Brady Miller fell 6-2, 6-4 at third singles. In doubles play, Liam Randell and Parker Nye were defeated 6-0, 6-4 at first doubles, while Grant Blonde and Jarrett Jaeck dropped a 6-4, 6-1 match at second doubles.
Columbian found success in junior varsity play. Doubles teams of Carson Hayes and Bentley Schoch, along with Lucas Widman and Austin King, earned wins. Jack Dell and Jackson Vallery also picked up singles victories.
Columbian returns to action Tuesday when the Tornadoes travel to Sandusky.
