Tiffin - Columbian dropped a tight league match to Norwalk 3-2 on Monday, falling to 5-2 overall and 3-1 in the conference.

The Tornadoes picked up a win at third singles where Parker Nye led the way for Columbian. Nye posted a 6-0, 6-4 victory to secure one of the team’s two points. Columbian’s other win came in second doubles as Brady Miller and Grant Blonde battled through three sets for a 6-3, 4-6, 6-2 victory.

Norwalk claimed the remaining courts to earn the team win. At first singles, Dravyn Dicken fell 6-1, 6-3, and Liam Randell dropped second singles 6-2, 6-2. In first doubles, Jarrett Jaeck and Carson Hayes were defeated 6-2, 6-4.

The Tornadoes saw success in junior varsity play with wins from Bentley Schoch and Carson Hayes, Austin King and Lucas Widman, and Iant Cortez and Jayden Yetter.

Columbian returns to action Thursday when the Tornadoes travel to Clyde.
