CLYDE – The Tiffin Columbian girls track and field team delivered a great performance at the Clyde Hybrid Invitational, battling to a third-place team finish in a competitive 12-school field. The Tornadoes racked up 75.5 points, trailing only Anthony Wayne (93) and Sandusky (77).

The day was highlighted by two individual championships. Carmen Lewis dominated the 1600m run, taking first place with a stellar time of 5:39.24. In the field, Tara Duffy secured a victory in the Discus with an impressive throw of 108’0”.

Columbian saw strong contributions across the hurdles and jumps as well. Caroline Newlove earned a third-place finish in the 300 Hurdles (48.80) and took sixth in the 100 Hurdles (13.58). In the Pole Vault, Ava Newman claimed the runner-up spot, clearing 8’6” for second place, while Josie Kancler added points with a seventh-place finish in the Long Jump (14’4.25”).

The relay teams were instrumental in the Tornadoes' high team score. The 4x800 team of Lewis, Maddie Kelley, Emma Musgrave, and Lilly Allen took fourth place (10:38.17), while the Sprint Medley Relay squad finished fifth (4:44.80). Additional scoring came from the 4x200 team (6th), the Distance Medley Relay (6th), and the 4x100 team (7th). Maddie Kelley also added an individual eighth-place finish in the 1600m.

The meet concluded with successful mixed relay performances. The 4x400 Mixed Relay team—Kennedy Wilhelm, Caroline Newlove, Dashawn Russell, and Amar’e Legrant—raced to a sensational second-place finish in 3:54.11. The 4x100 Mixed Relay team of Abby Lewis, Ava Newman, Titan Neuman, and Jakobi Jackson also placed, taking sixth in 50.12.
