TIFFIN – It was a difficult Friday afternoon for Varsity Softball, as the team struggled to contain a potent offensive surge on the road in a 14-4 loss. Despite a strong showing from the middle of the order, the team could not overcome a series of high-scoring innings by the opposition.
Olyvia Steinmetz remained a bright spot for the lineup. Occupying the cleanup spot, Steinmetz displayed her power and consistency, going 2-for-3 on the day and driving in two of the team's four runs.
On the mound, Gabby Shock earned the start for Varsity Softball. She battled through 3.1 innings of work, recording three strikeouts before being relieved. The team's hitters faced a tough challenge throughout the day, managing four hits against a starter who recorded 10 strikeouts.
Varsity Softball is scheduled to host Madison Comprehensive on Monday.
