BELLEVUE – The Boys tennis team continued its impressive early-season surge on Thursday, navigating a series of high-stakes marathons to secure a 4-1 road victory over Bellevue. With the win, the Tornadoes improve to 5-1 overall and maintain a perfect 3-0 record in the SBC Lake Division.

The final score belied just how close the match truly was, as three of the five courts required a deciding third set to determine a winner.

At 1st Singles, senior Dravyn Dicken showed immense mental toughness. After dropping a grueling first-set tiebreaker to Bellevue's Breylan McNair, Dicken took control of the match, wearing down his opponent to sweep the final two sets 6-4, 6-1.

Brock Siesel provided the most dominant performance of the day at 2nd Singles. The junior was in peak form, surrendering only a single game in a 6-0, 6-1 masterclass against Caleb Martin.

Bellevue managed to claw back a point at 3rd Singles in another three-set thriller. After winning the first set 6-2, Columbian’s Parker Nye couldn't hold off Austin Eisenhaurer, who rallied to take the match 2-6, 6-4, 7-5.

The senior duo of Jarrett Jaeck and Carson Hayes found themselves in a back-and-forth battle against Preston Spurlock and Lucas Niedermier. After splitting the first two sets, the match went to a deciding tiebreaker. Jaeck and Hayes showed nerves of steel, edging out an 11-9 victory in the breaker to clinch the set 7-6 and the match.

At 2nd Doubles, the sophomore-junior pairing of Liam Randell and Bentley Schoch ensured there would be no late-match comeback for the Redmen. They delivered a consistent performance to defeat Sam Kinney and Konnor Smith 6-2, 6-2.

The Boys return home tomorrow to host league rival Clyde in what promises to be another pivotal SBC Lake matchup.
