Bellevue – Despite a relentless 15-hit offensive attack, the JV Softball team fell just short on Thursday, dropping a high-scoring 11-8 contest to Bellevue. Though the Tornadoes out-hit their opponents by a significant margin, a high volume of walks proved difficult to overcome.

The Tornadoes wasted no time getting on the scoreboard, striking first in the bottom of the opening frame. Frankie Miller ignited the offense with an RBI single to give the home team an early 2-0 lead.

The duo of Audrey Sharp and Miller were nearly unstoppable at the plate, each turning in a massive 4-for-4 performance. Sharp was a constant threat in the middle of the lineup, driving in two runs along with Lily Banks, who also tallied two RBIs.

The Tornadoes' hitting was contagious throughout the lineup. Kaylani MacDonald was perfect at the dish, going 2-for-2, while Brookelynn Rochester showed great discipline, drawing two of the team’s five walks.

When they weren't hitting, the Tornadoes were running. The team was incredibly aggressive on the bases, racking up a staggering 16 stolen bases during the game. Sharp, Banks, MacDonald, and Miller all recorded multiple steals, keeping the Bellevue defense under constant pressure.

Autumn England went the distance on the mound for the Tornadoes, pitching six innings and striking out three.

The JV team will look for a victory tomorrow, Friday, against Mohawk.
