Findlay - Varsity Baseball struggled to get anything going Tuesday as Liberty-Benton pulled away for a 12-2 victory.
The Eagles scored early and steadily built their lead, putting Columbian on the defensive from the start. Columbian’s pitchers battled, but the damage mounted, especially in the sixth inning when Liberty-Benton sent five runs across to put the game out of reach.
Columbian’s offense showed some fight, with Conner Reese, Blake Gaulden, Jaxson Little, Kael Lawrence, and Jamison Woessner each recording a hit. Jax Diamantopoulos and Kyle Hepp drove in a run apiece, keeping the team on the scoreboard.
Despite the lopsided loss, the Tornadoes will look to rebound Wednesday when they host Perkins.
