Lexington - Varsity Baseball jumped out to the lead in the top of the third inning after Jaxson Little doubled, scoring one run, and Johnny Bremyer homered to left field, scoring two runs.
Jamison Woessner earned the win for Columbian. The starter gave up five hits and two runs (one earned) over three and two-thirds innings, striking out three and walking none. Dane Powell took the loss for Lexington. The pitcher went two and one-third innings, allowing three runs on three hits, striking out four and walking one. Braden Egbert pitched one inning of shutout ball for Columbian in relief. The reliever gave up zero hits, striking out two and walking one.
Little set the tone at the top of the lineup, leading 2026 with two hits in four at bats. Bremyer, Little, and Egbert each drove in two runs for the Tornadoes. Bremyer led Columbian with two walks. Overall, the team had a strong eye at the plate, tallying eight walks for the game. Bremyer and Egbert each stole multiple bases for as the Tornadoes ran wild on the base paths, accumulating seven stolen bases for the game.
2026 Columbian Tornadoes will travel to Liberty-Benton for their next game on Tuesday.
