Tiffin - Calvert scored 11 runs in the second inning and went on to defeat the Columbian Junior Varsity Tornadoes 20-4 on Monday.
Columbian jumped out to an early lead in the top of the first. Audrey Sharp doubled to bring home a run, and Lily Banks followed with a single that scored two, giving the Tornadoes a 3-0 advantage.
Calvert answered in the bottom of the inning, taking the lead with four runs. A combination of an error, a double, a triple, and a sacrifice fly allowed Calvert to move in front before breaking the game open in the second.
Calvert erupted for 11 runs on 10 hits in the bottom of the second inning to extend the lead. The hosts added three more runs in the third inning.
Banks led Columbian offensively with two RBIs. Sharp, Adams, Banks, Kaylani MacDonald, and Tysaiah Zeigler each recorded one hit. Adams also added two stolen bases.
Columbian will return to action Wednesday with a road game at Perkins.
