ASHLAND — The Tiffin Columbian boys tennis team competed at the Ashland Invitational on Saturday, with team standings not available.
At first singles, Dravyn Dicken faced a tough draw, falling to Tyler Berg of Brunswick 8-2 before dropping a close 8-6 decision to Aaden Miller of Orrville.
Brock Siesel split his matches at second singles, falling to Andrew James of Wooster 8-4 before rebounding with an 8-3 win over Deylon Toombs of Marion Harding.
Grant Blonde also earned a split at third singles. After an 8-3 loss to Harold Song of Ashland, Blonde edged Josiah Graves of Shelby in a thrilling tiebreaker, 8-7 (11-9).
In doubles play, Parker Nye and Liam Randell picked up an opening-round win at first doubles, defeating Orrville’s Rhys Coleman and Dane Vodika 8-3, before falling to Marion Harding’s Reagan Tway and Jeffery Stimson 8-4.
At second doubles, Brady Miller and Carson Hayes dropped their first match to Marion Harding’s Isaac Rice and Landon Blackford 8-4, but bounced back with an 8-3 victory over Orrville’s Brad Long and Gunner Curtis.
