The Tiffin Middle School track and field teams opened their season with several strong performances at the MMS Early Bird Invite, highlighted by multiple first-place finishes, personal records, and podium performances across both the boys and girls competitions.
The boys' team was led by standout sprinter Ryder Smith, who captured two first-place finishes, winning the 100-meter dash (11.75) and the 200-meter dash (24.59). Smith also helped power the 4x200 relay team—alongside Maxwell Taylor, Patrick Beers, and Adrian Beers—to another first-place finish with a time of 1:41.52.
Tiffin also saw strong middle-distance and hurdle performances. Jentson Halcomb placed third in the 400 meters (59.94) and added another third-place finish in the 200-meter hurdles (29.84). Garrett Plikerd finished third in the 1600 meters (5:20.82) and fourth in the 800 meters (2:28.06).
In the field events, Brock Fox recorded a third-place finish in discus (91'6"), while Jaxon Weickert placed fourth in shot put (35'9").
