TIFFIN — Columbian earned a solid home victory Thursday, defeating Sandusky in a rain-shortened tennis match.
The Tornadoes won all completed matches before weather halted play. In singles action, Dravyn Dicken posted a 6-4, 6-1 win at first singles, while Brock Siesel matched that scoreline with a 6-4, 6-1 victory at second singles. The third singles match between Liam Randell and Ishan Chopra was not completed due to weather.
Columbian swept doubles play. The first doubles team of Grant Blonde and Parker Nye claimed a 7-5, 6-1 win, and the second doubles duo of Brady Miller and Carson Hayes earned a 6-0, 6-4 victory.
With the win, Columbian improves to 2-0 overall and 1-0 in the SBC Lake Division. The Tornadoes return to action Saturday at the Ashland Invitational.
