FINDLAY — Tiffin Columbians' girls wrestling team was represented by two competitors at the OHSAA District Wrestling Championships held at Findlay High School, with Ali Nitecki turning in a strong performance at 130 pounds.
Nitecki went 2-2 on the day, recording two pins during the tournament. She opened competition with a victory over Lakewood, securing a fall in 3:18. In the quarterfinal round, Nitecki was pinned by Start in 1:55, sending her to the consolation bracket.
She rebounded with another strong performance, earning a fall over Tinora in 3:54 to stay alive in the tournament. Nitecki’s run ended in the next round when she fell to Clyde by pin in 4:47. She concluded her season with a 28-19 record.
At 155 pounds, Columbian’s Gracyn Brose competed in her first district tournament. Brose dropped her opening match to Findlay by fall in 2:59 and later fell to Normandy in the consolation round by pin in 57 seconds.
Brose finished the season with a 14-19 record.
The district tournament marked the end of the season for both Tornado wrestlers. Congratulations on a great season!
