Tiffin Columbian High School Athletic Department Announces Ryan Ottney as New Head Football Coach Pending Board Approval
TIFFIN, Ohio – The Tiffin Columbian High School Athletic Department is pleased to announce that, pending Board of Education approval, Ryan Ottney has been selected as the next Head Football Coach of the Tornadoes.
Ottney has served as an assistant coach at Columbian for the past nine seasons, including duties as Offensive Coordinator. During his tenure, he has played a key role in developing the Tornado offense, mentoring student-athletes, and helping guide the program’s competitive growth.
Throughout the interview process, Ottney’s vision to infuse new energy into the program stood out to the selection committee. His commitment to building strong relationships with players, fostering a positive team culture, and continuing to elevate the standards of Tornado Football were central to his candidacy.
Athletic Director Bill Beaston stated, “Ryan has been an integral part of our program for nearly a decade. His familiarity with our student-athletes, community, and traditions, combined with his passion, forward-thinking approach and vision for a cohesive athletic department, make him an excellent choice to lead our football program into the future.”
Ottney replaces Judd Lutz, who compiled a 64-48 record over 10 seasons as Head Coach of the Tornadoes.
