The Tiffin Columbian High School girls swimming and diving team turned in a competitive showing at the OHSAA Division I District Championships, held at Bowling Green State University.
Olivia Steinmetz led the Tornadoes with a pair of strong performances. She placed ninth in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 1:03.05 and added a 19th-place finish in the 200-yard freestyle (2:06.41). Both swims earned solid district placings in a deep Division I field.
Kennedy Slosser also delivered a standout meet, finishing 11th in the 100-yard butterfly in 1:01.69 and matching that placement in the 200-yard individual medley with a time of 2:17.91. Her efforts helped anchor multiple relay teams as well.
In breaststroke action, Abigail Willman clocked 1:16.07 to place 23rd, while teammate Layne Woodruff finished 28th in 1:16.49. The two later joined forces with their teammates in relay competition.
Tiffin Columbian’s relays posted competitive times across the board. The 400-yard freestyle relay team of Woodruff, Willman, Steinmetz and Slosser finished 13th in 3:53.86. The 200-yard medley relay quartet of Steinmetz, Woodruff, Slosser and Willman also placed 13th, touching the wall in 1:59.60. In the 200-yard freestyle relay, Woodruff, Anne Young, Korryn Potts and Willman combined for a 16th-place finish in 1:48.75.
Several swimmers recorded personal- or season-best times at the district meet, highlighting the team’s continued progress throughout the winter season. Competing against some of the top programs in Northwest Ohio, the Tornadoes closed out their 2026 campaign with a collection of strong individual swims and cohesive relay performances on one of the area’s biggest stages.
